Apa jadinya kalo kursi tua di museum berhantu? Di cerita ini seorang turis nekat duduk dikursi "berhantu" dan apa yang akan terjadi selanjutnya? Silahkan di baca sendiri yaaa. Ada juga latihan untuk siswa yang berhubungan dengan cerita berikut ini. Enjoy the story!!!



The Haunted Chair
British Folklore

In a small town in England, there was a museum with many strange things - old paintings, swods, and one special chair. The guide always warned the visitors: "This is the haunted chair. People say if you sit on it, bad things will happen!" Most visitors were too scared to try. But one tourist named Mark just laughed. "Ghost are not real, " he said.

Mark sat on the chair. Everyone gasped. Nothing happened.... at first. But suddenly, an alarm rang. Two museum guards came running. One shouted, "Sir! Please get off that chair!" Mark jumped out, confused. "Why? Is it haunted?" He asked. The guard replied, "No, Sir. It's 300 years old and very fragile. The last person who sat on it, broke it!" 

Everyone laughed. The haunted chair was not cursed. It was just part of the museum. The real danger was not a ghost - it was the cleaning bill. Mark paid for damage and said, "Next time, I will sit on the floor. Safer and cheaper!"

    Cerita horor tidak harus selalu menyeramkan. Beberapa justru membuat kita tertawa sekaligus merinding, di blog misstuti.id kali ini, kita akan sama-sama membaca kisah klasik urban legend dari Amerika : The Vanishing Hitchhiker. Ceritanya sudah disederhanakan agar cocok untuk pelajar khususnya SMP. Yuk kita baca sama-sama!!


The Vanishing Hitchhiker
An Urban Legend from United States

One cold and rainy night, a man name Daniel was driving home from work. The road was dark and empty. Suddenly he saw a young girl standing by the side of the road. She wore the white dress looked very cold. Daniel stop the car and ask, "Do you need help?" the girl nodded and said "Please take me home."

Daniel gave her his jacket and let her sit in the back seat. They didn't talk much on the way. after about 10 minutes, the girl said, "You can stop here. this is my house. "Daniel stopped the car, and the girl got out. she smiled and waved goodbye. daniel waited for a moment, but she didn't return the jacket.

The next day, Daniel went to the house to get his jacket. An old woman opened the door. Daniel explained what happened. The woman looked shocked and said, "That girl was my daughter. She died in a car accident ten years ago. You saw her ghost. She appears every year on the day she died." Daniel didn't believe it - until he saw his jacket lying on her grave in the cemetery.

PASSIVE VOICE

Hello, Everyone. Pada ngapain ne? Sambil duduk-duduk manis, yuk kita belajar sedikit tentang Passive Voice atau Kalimat Pasif. Materi ini kita jumpai pada kelas 9 ya, Guys. Jika dilihat dari tingkat kesulitan, sebenarnya materi Passive Voice ini termasuk dalam kategori sulit. Kenapa? Karena siswa sudah seharusnya menguasai pola Kalimat Aktif dalam berbagai Tenses (Bentuk Waktu). Jadi ketika mereka belajar tentang materi Passive Voice ini akan lebih gampang nantinya, gitcu.

 Narrative Text untuk Kelas IX

            Gimana kabarnya sobat Miss Tuti yang keren? Gak terasa udah pertengahan bulan Januari ya. Yuk kita ulang sebentar mengenai materi Narrative Text. Materi ini merupakan materi yang harus dipelajari siswa kelas IX pada semester genap ya, Guys. Kita lihat lagi tentang tujuan, jenis, bagian dan contoh teks dan juga contoh soalnya. Are you ready? 

A. Definition            : It relates to real experience, imagination, or complicated event which heads for                                        crisis and finds the resolution at last.

B. Purpose                : To entertain or amuse the readers or listeners trough a story.

C. Kinds of Narrative Text : folklore, fairy tale, fable, legend, myth, etc.

D. Generic Structure : 

    1. Orientation                 : the beginning of the story that consists of the introduction of character,                                                      time, and  place.

    2. Complication/crisis    : a problem starts to appear.

    3. Resoluton                    : how a problem is solved.

    4. Reorientation               : closing expression or statement that shows the story ends, the change of                                                   character and moral value of the story.

             Long time ago in the island of Java, Indonesia, lived a couple of farmer. They had married for some years but they had no children. So they prayed to a monster called Buta Ijo to give them children. Buta Ijo was a ferocious and powerful monster. He granted their wish on one condition. When their children had grown up, they had to sacrifice them to Buta Ijo. He like eating fresh meat of human being. The farmers agreed to his condition. Several months later the wife was pregnant.  

            She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They named her Timun Emas. The farmers were happy. Timun Emas was very healthy and a very smart girl. She was also very diligent. When she was a teenager, Buta Ijo came to their house. Timun Emas was frightened so she ran away to hide. The farmers then told Buta Ijo that Timun Emas still a child. They asked him to postpone. Buta Ijo agreed. He promised to come again.

            The following year Buta Ijo came again. But again and again their parents said that Timun Emas was stull a child. When the third time Buta Ijo came their parents had prepared something for him. They give Timun Emas several bamboo needles, seeds of cucumber, dressing and salt.

            "Timun, take these tings."

            "What are these things?"

            "These are your weapons. Buta Ijo will chase you. He will eat you alive. So run as fast as you can. And if he will catch you spread this to the ground. Now go!"

            Timun Emas was scared so she ran as quickly as she could. When Buto Ijo arrived she was far from home. He was very angry when he realized that his prey had left. so he ran to chase her. He had  sharp nose se he knew what direction his prey ran.

            Timun Emas was just a girl while Buta Ijo was a monster so he could easily catch her up. When he was just several steps behind Timun Emas quickly spread the seeds of cucumber. In second they turned into many vines of cucumber. The exhausted Buta Ijo was very thirsty so he grabbed and ate them. When Buta Ijo was busy eating cucumber Timun Emas could run away. But soon Buta Ijo realized and started running again. When he was just several steps behind Timun Emas, she threw her bamboo needles. Soon they turned into dense bamboo trees. Meanwhile Timun Emas could run farther.

            Buta Ijo chased her again. When he almost catch her again and again Timun Emas threw her dressing. This time it turned into a lake. Buto Ijo was busy to save himself so Timun Emas ran away. But Buta Ijo could overcome it and continued chasing her.

            Finally when Timun Emas was almost caught she threw her salt. Soon the land where Buta Ijo stood turned into ocean. Buta Ijo was drowned and died instantly. Timun Emas was thankful to God and came back to her home
